A TLC executive is now speaking out about the Josh Duggar scandal and also the new special Jill & Jessa: Counting On. US Magazine shared that TLC's executive vice president and general manager Nancy Daniels spoke out recently at the network's Television Critics Association panel. Nancy admitted that as soon as they heard about the Josh Duggar scandal they talked to the family and knew they had their challenges.

Nancy then went on to explain how they were sympathetic to the Duggar family during their hard time. TLC knew that what they were going through was not easy on them.

"These are people who had something happening in their lives a long time ago. We took the show off the air and immediately connected with two well-respected agencies to figure out the appropriate response. Reporters were not afraid to put them on the spot and get details. They were asked how they have decided to change casting for their shows after this scandal. You would think that TLC would check into things a bit more before starting a new show. This is how Daniels explained it.

“Our first priorty is making sure that there’s a health and well-being of our families first and foremost. We feature stories of different families with real people and real things happen.”

Daniels did go on and explain a bit more saying they have “stop gaps in place” and that “we have strong screening process that has evolved.” They also shared that they had over 3 million viewers on the specials about Jill and Jessa Duggar and they know that people care about these girls.
