The Life of Joshua Son of Nun Joshua Crennel Central Texas University Abstract Joshua was born in Egypt in the Northeast Nile delta. Just like his fellow Hebrews he was born a slave. Through faithful obedience to God, he developed into the leader of Israel. According to Zavada, 2014, Joshua has been viewed by some bible scholars as an Old Testament representation of Jesus Christ. What Moses failed at doing, Joshua successfully completed by leading the people of God. The accomplishments of Joshua, led to the completed work of Jesus Christ. During Joshua’s quest he carried much strength such as being a great leader, showing incredible courage, and being a brilliant military commander. But with these strengths, Joshua had weakness. Before every battle he always deliberated with God, but the one time he failed he was forbidden of that certain duty. Joshua was a descendant of Ephraim tribe; also known Ephraimites sons of Joseph. Just like the other Hebrews, he was born into slavery.
