One similarity between the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic beliefs is what they consider to be their holy books. The Islam religion has the Quran which to them “the Quran is at the center of their religion because it reflects the recitation of God’s words to Muhammad” (DiYanni). Hinduism and Buddhism are closely related. Buddha was a Hindu prince before founding his own path to enlightenment. For westerners I’ll often say that the relationship between the two is like the relationship between Judaism and Christianity in some ways. Christianity was inspired by the life of a Jew and Buddhism was inspired by the life of a Hindu (though the Buddha rejected Hinduism and did not find it to be the right path for himself).
In today’s society, the vast majority of Jews are born into Jewish families, granting that there are many that become Jews by choice. Jewish people do not “proselytize” their beliefs, they do not endorse their religion or try to convert someone into becoming a Jew. Even though they do not attempt to convert people in to Jews it does not mean that they are ashamed of their religion. Religious Jews are extremely proud of their religion and are pleased when giving details about their religion to the non- Jews. Jews do not discriminate and welcome any outsiders that show interest in the Jewish religion.
For starters, most people don’t know a lot about jews and their religion. All Jewish religion is referred to as Judaism. An encyclopedia states that, “Jews believe in one god and the teachings of the Hebrew Bible” (“Judaism”). Some of their everyday language is spoken in Hebrew and some jews speak in other languages or live in different places. There are also some jews who are non-religious and who are called jews because of their ancestry.

The Jagannath Temple – Puri, India Hinduism is neither a polytheistic nor a pagan religion – unlike the Roman religion existing at the time of Jesus – but rather a monotheistic religion. Hinduism established a monotheistic religion tens of thousands of years ago. The many manifestations of God – including Ganesha, the Elephant God, and Hanuman, the Monkey God – are merely expressions of one Supreme Being – representations of a single Divine Entity. The teachings of Hinduism can be traced back to the Vedas which go back hundreds of thousands of years ago. Hinduism already existed long before Krishna – who lived 5,000 years ago – and even existed before Rama – who lived 10,000 years ago.

Buddhism did have a founder, on the other hand, named Siddhartha Gautama, but his followers called him “Buddha.” He was the first to discover enlightenment; he then spread this new knowledge to his friends, who told others, and so on.
Judaism is an Ancient monotheistic religion, with the Torah as its holy text which is apart of a larger text called a Tanakh or Hebrew Bible.
