Also it will tell what makes zoroastrianism monotheism and the monothestic views of Judaism different. Also this essay will explain two core elements in the belief systems of Zoroastrains and jews that are unique to that religion. lastly this essay will give my personal view on why Zoroastrianism is dying while Judaism thrives. Zoroastrianism is an ancient Iranian religion founded by Zoroster ; which is the western version of the name Zarathushtra. It is believed to possibly be the oldest religion based on their belief of one god (Zoroastrianism Slide 2). Often at times it has been said that Zoroastrians worship fire. This is incorrect Zoroastrians temporal fire represents the spiritual flame (mainyu athra) within us. The symbolism of the eternal flame in Zoroastrianism can be compared to the symbolism of the Olympic flame it symbolizes core ethical values and principles (Zoroastrian Slide 12).
