We do not expect someone who cares about us so dearly, to betray us. How could someone trust another if they betrayed them; perhaps someone that was close to that person? That is the exact situation that Jesus and Judas Iscariot (one of Jesus’ twelve disciples), went through. Every story needs a villain, and Judas Iscariot filled that role.The betrayal of Jesus performed by Judas Iscariot, was one thing that Judas Iscariot will be remembered for forever. Judas Iscariot was one of Jesus’ twelve disciples, who lived with and followed Jesus for three years. In the Gospel Luke 22:1-38, 47-53, it gives a clear story of how Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus, and Jesus’ arrest. During the Last Supper with Jesus and the disciples, Jesus had said that one of the disciples will betray him. Judas knew right then and there, that Jesus was talking about him. Once Judas Iscariot and the soldiers went to the location of Jesus, Judas Iscariot kissed Jesus, letting Him know that Jesus was about to betray him. Jesus knew days before that His betrayal was coming. The soldiers knew that the person that Judas Iscariot kissed, was the Messiah. The soldiers put a bag over his head, and sent him away. Money was important to Judas. He gave money to betray his Leader. Could you imagine being betrayed by one of your followers? Satan’s part in the betrayal of Jesus does not remove any responsibility from Judas because he had the biggest part in the arrest of Jesus. After Jesus’ arrest, Judas felt the anger and sadness put on him. He eventually hung himself. Jesus’ arrest was mainly Judas Iscariot’s fault because if Judas did not go to the chief priests and the teachers of the law, Jesus would never have gotten arrested or crucified.

The theme to learn from this personality profile is, you never know how big of a consequence you could get for a lie. Also, the love of money can be blinding. According to Judas, money blinded him.
