I do feel that in Julie of the wolves we see culture class quite often, and what I mean by that is how Julie’s torn between the ways that her father taught her that all animals have a language in and if you listen to them you can learn that language and learn where they get their food or windstorms coming or if the predators near all things that you would need to survive on the tundra as an Inuit Indian. But she’s also torn and how she wants to leave Alaska and go to San Francisco where her pimp out Amy lives to see some of the things that Amy spoke of in her letters to her such as television, sports cars, blue jeans, and hero sandwiches. These are all things that most teenage girls would take for granted but someone who grew up in the culture
