Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy because They both kill themselves over love. Two innocent lovers die a young tragic death. Romeo instantly falls in love with Juliet after being depressed about Rosaline, before the masquerade saying that he would never find someone better than Rosaline. Even the title is “Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.” If this is not a tragedy, then what is?

Thus with a kiss, I die.” In this quote, Romeo is seconds away from killing himself with his poison. This is just a sign of immaturity. He was only 18 when he killed himself. Some say it is a romance because it was love at first sight.
