Of course, Juliet threatened to kill herself, because she'd rather be dead than married to Paris and be a disloyal wife to her man, Romeo. Juliet says, ¨Be not so long to speak. Romeo and Juliet loved each other and the death of Mercutio caused by the families constant fighting had led them to commit suicide eventually. Romeo was banished by the prince for killing Tybalt. Friar Lawrence had come up with a plan. The plan was to have Juliet drink a sleeping potion and have Romeo come fetch her but Romeo received the wrong news and he thought Juliet had died. After he had figured that out he went to Juliets tomb and killed himself.
Juliet: Maturing Woman As teenagers grow, they rebel and leave the nest, and can have little thought as to how this affects other people. Juliet Capulet is a stunning example of this exact concept. At 13, Juliet is finally growing into herself and who she wants to be, and becoming a fully fledged woman by leaving her childhood comforter, the Nurse, for her husband, and earning the title of “Maturing Woman”. Her growth and maturation as a person can be seen clearly through the play, coming clearly into the light in Act 3 Scene 5, first through her conversation with her mother and the masterful way she worked through those rocky waters, and secondly through her comment about the nurse and how they will never be as close.
Juliet's attitude toward love and marriage changes throughout Romeo and Juliet due to her falling in love with Romeo, marrying him in secret and committing suicide. Juliet’s attitude towards love changes when Juliet meets Romeo. By meeting Romeo Juliet falls in love with him and Romeo falls in love with Juliet that changes Juliet’s attitude towards love. Juliet’s attitude towards marriage changes when Juliet marries Romeo in secret. Juliet at first thought of marriage as an honor, but Juliet did not want to get married, Romeo changes that.
No matter the situation, every time something excessively bad happened, both Romeo and Juliet threatened to kill themselves. For example, Juliet is forced to get married to Count Paris but before Juliet agrees, she runs to Friar Lawrence's cell and proclaims: "I'd soon rather die then to marry again. " The very first thought to run through Juliet's empty head, was to commit suicide. Of course, that's not when she did eventually commit suicide.
When Friar Laurence tells Juliet the plan she agrees. She sacrifices her life because after drinking the potion she may not wake up. In the end Romeo comes to Juliet and drinks the poison because he had no desire to live. After Romeo dies Juliet wakes up and kills herself to be with Romeo in peace. Their passion for each other took their lives.
Romeo then took his own life because he genuinely thought his true love was dead, after he had Juliet then awoken. This was all because of Romeo and Juliet’s
“I’ll look to like, if looking liking move” (21). The conversation was about the arranged marriage in which Juliet don’t even know whom she is going to marry. Shakespeare demonstrates Juliet’s innocence through dialogue, metaphor and imagery. Juliet’s innocence is proven through the use of dialogue that showcasing her immaturity and obedience.
The play spotlights certain character’s close bonds between each other. The Nurse and Juliet are like relatives, but they are not blood related. Since the Nurse’s daughter died at a young age, she treats Juliet as a daughter and has been with Juliet to breast feed her. The Nurse is like another mother to Juliet. Juliet has conversations with the Nurse which she would not discuss with her mother, Lady Capulet.
“It seems to me, that love could be labeled poison and we’d drink it anyway”, says Atticus. This quote means that love can be dangerous, but we, as humans, are willing to take the risk in order to find happiness. This quote relates to Romeo and Juliet because Romeo and Juliet knew that there would be so many risks falling in love with each other, but they were willing to take those risks because they love each other. In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet are star-crossed lovers whose love for each other shows, in the way, they are willing to die for each other, the way they forgive each other, and the way they are willing to leave their families for each other.
Alan Watts once said, “Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.” (brainyquotes.com). Watts is saying that we can't just say that we love someone, we have to feel our heart swell with the love we have for that person. In William Shakespeare's, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet are not truly in love because they automatically fall ‘in love’ after seeing each other once, they decide to get married a few hours after they meet and they are too immature to actually know what love is . One reason Romeo and Juliet are not truly in love is that they fell in love right after they meet (lust at first sight).
Juliet only loves Romeo so this drives her to go to Friar Laurence whereupon attempted suicide he prescribes a potion that will make her appear dead. Romeo and Juliet’s decision to be married starts a string of events including Juliet’s “death”, Romeo killing Paris, Romeo killing himself, and Juliet killing
Why did Romeo and Juliet’s marriage went so wrong at the end? Maybe it's that they were not meant for each other. Maybe it's that they're family hated each other. Maybe it's because they both committed suicide. Whatever reason it was we can both agree they both weren't thinking when they were by each other and never thought about what would happen if they marry or the fact that they are total strangers.
From the moment he sees her at the Capulet party, Romeo immediately falls in love with Juliet. They both fall head over heels for each other as the night progresses. During their time together, they completely put all things aside and forget everything about the world except for their love for one another. Most people seem to think this way about the romance between Romeo and Juliet, but in reality, they aren’t actually truly in love. Romeo and Juliet are not in love with each other because just a day before they met, he felt heartbroken because of a girl named Rosaline who didn 't love him, he pressures Juliet to profess her love to him, and after just barely meeting, they both agree to get married.

It is so relatable till date because people fall in love now as Romeo and Juliet did, families fight, as the Montagues and Capulets did. We can relate to each character in some. Which is what makes this play so compelling and lets it live, five hundred years later. Romeo and Juliet is a tragic tale of two lovers, separated by an epic feud of their two houses (Romeo a Montague and Juliet a Capulet.)
