In Antonio Mendez and Matt Baglio's book, Argo, Mendez narrated the story of how he along with the help of others pulled off the most "audacious rescue in history" (book cover). During this time period, Antonio J. Mendez was the chief of authentication for the CIA. This title would help him tremendously throughout the story as he used his special skills to help save peoples' lives. As he tells his story he goes into great detail about how it all went down. Throughout the entirety of Argo, Antonio Mendez and Matt Baglio did a great way of explaining the purpose, occasion, and tone of the story.

The Devil’s Highway is a creative non-fiction novel by Luis Alberto Urrea and published in April 1, 2004. This resentful Novel tells the true story of 26 men who in May 2001 attempted to cross the mexican border into the desert of southern Arizona, through the deadly region known as the Devil’s Highway, a desert so harsh and desolate that even the border patrol is afraid to travel through it. Only twelve of those men made it out. The outcome of this was 14 people died and the person to blame were the coyotes that lead them to their death. Mendez was fully responsible for the walker's demise on May 23.
The Cut, written by George Pelecanos is a book written about a Marine Corps Veteran, Spero Lucas. Spero is having some difficulty adapting to his new “civilian” lifestyle after coming home from Iraq. To help cope with this, he finds himself in an interesting new career. Spero helps people find their “lost” property. He is not picky about who his clients, whether he must recover stolen jewelry or hunt down stolen marijuana, as long as he receives a paycheck.
In Nothing But the Truth there is one thing that stood out to me throughout the entire book. The whole book is full of lies. Philip Malloy tells lies about everything and to everyone. He lies to his parents, the principal, and even to a reporter that is interviewing him. Throughout the book we continue to see the lies play out until the very end of the book when Philip finally decides to tell the truth.
Among the Hidden is about a boy named Luke. Luke is what many people called a "shadow child." A shadow child is normally a third or fourth child in the family. these children had to be kept a secret due to a law during this time. The law stated you may not have more than two children, so the population can be kept down.

Just because someone is in college it should not suggest that their family members are college educated. First generation students are fresh to the ideal of college and they need a mental support system during so because most of them are not equipped to deal with tough situations.
