Regarding Yacowar´s statement “Hitchcock´s justice is tricky, poetic rather than legal”. It refers that in his films the punishments are either self-imposed or determine by the circumstances but no character gets away with crime without getting some kind of punishment. In Blackmail, Alice and Frank successfully manage to avoid being related with Mr. Crewe´s death but they are condemned to spend life with each other and share the remorse of their acts. Justice is not apply in a traditional and direct way, such as imprisonment or death sentences, justice is done by making the characters face their worst faiths, condemns that are indefinite.
