On 092316 at around 2352 Hrs., Officers responded to a shooting at 3222 Selma Ave. Kenneth Cook ( DOB 030172 OLN - 081055483) was found in the front of the residence with a bullet wound through his left leg. Cook stated that he was going in the back door when he was approached by two males. One was wearing a mask and he could not describe the second suspect. Cook said that he was afraid of a robbery and threw a cup of liquor at the suspects.

The most famous case I know where a child witness was the key witness was the Lester Street Murders in Memphis, TN. On March, 2008, Jessie Dotson went to 722 Lester Street, where his brother, Cecil, lived with his girlfriend and their children. Jessie killed four adults were multiple gunshot wounds, killed two children, ages 2 and 4, who were beaten and stabbed. Three other children, one just 2 months old, also were beaten and stabbed, but survived the attack.
In the story “Killings” written by Andre Dubus Matt Fowlers son is killed by Richard Strout. Matt Fowler feels that his actions are justified for killing Richard. Matt Fowlers actions do not make him a bad person. In the story “Killings” when Matt kills Richard for killing his son he feels no remorse. It took an all- white jury less than one hour to find Roy Bryant and J.W.Milam not guilty of murdering Emmett Till. Even though there were multiple witnesses that testified saying that they heard/ saw Roy Bryant and J.W.Milam kidnap Emmett Till and heard screaming coming from the a shed. Killing another seems very unjustifiable, which might be the case but when someone takes another 's life and sent to prison, death row or capital punishment is needed to put that person were they belong. People like that deserve to die because of their mistake of killing another and it deters other people to not kill others, showing them what would happen. In the case of Capital Punishment, Hunting for Sport, or George and Lennie, killing is a justifiable act. In the case of capital punishment killing is justified and needs to be done. Throughout the story you meet the Jarret family and watch as they progress through the everyday life and the challenges that come with it. Conrad Jarret is an ordinary 17-year-old boy living in Lake Forest, Illinois. Conrad is living with the burden of thinking he is at fault for his brother’s death and blaming himself for the family quandary’s. Conrad, by far, is the most interesting character for the reason that he unquestionably struggles to try to find what he defines as a “normal” life.
In the case of Mary Barnett, I agree with the courts decision to find her guilty of second degree murder and manslaughter. This is largely based on my analysis of the witnesses presented during the trial and the demeanor and actions of the defendant. Having an associates degree in psychology helped me formulate decisions about the role of each character and what part they were to play during the course of the trial. I utilized the teaching from the text book as well as the concepts from my social psychology class which required me to people watch and analyze the surroundings, body language, and actions of others.
Throughout the years, there have been many controversial cases that deal with justifiable homicide. A justifiable homicide is defined as the killing of a person in circumstances that allow the act to be regarded in law as without criminal guilt. This basically means that someone kills someone else because they feel threatened for their safety or for someone else 's safety around them. The main concept of justifiable homicide stands on a line between an excuse or a justification. In most circumstances, homicides are justified when they prevent greater harm to innocence.
