She was not able to effectively make her own decisions regarding how she was to be treated. The healthcare staff did not use moral judgment throughout her care. She was ignored and not given the proper care that was needed.
The article I read was called “Weekends in Jail for Rape? Why people get sentenced to ‘weekend jail’ by Corey Johnson” This article starts off with Molly Shattuck who raped a 15-year old boy in Georgetown, Delaware. The former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader walked out of the courtroom last week even after raping a 15-year old. She was only sentenced to “48 alterning weekends at the SussexVilation of Probation Center.”
The Duke lacrosse case implicated criminal actions of: first degree rape, first degree sex offenses’ and kidnapping charges against three Duke University lacrosse players; Collin Finnerty, Reade Seligman and Dean Evans (North Carolina State Bar v. Nifong, 2007,p.18-20). According to Mosteller (2007) the case started with “gang rape allegations” by Crystal Mangum, a black exotic dancer who was also a student at North Carolina Central University on the morning of March 14th, 2006 (p.1337). The alleged rape occurred during the Duke lacrosse teams’ party at 610 North Buchanan Blvd (North Carolina State Bar v. Nifong, 2007,p.1). Suspiciously Mangum could not make any identifications of her attackers even after viewing most Duke lacrosse team members including the names mentioned above and the lacrosse team members who actually lived at 610 North Buchanan Blvd (Mosteller, 2007, p.1407). Mosteller (2007) also mentions that Mike Nifong had to know that

After the devastating Recy Taylor rape case, the author researches similar cases about sexually abused black women. She finds a remarkable case about a courageous woman named Joan Little. Aaron Persky, the judge in charge Brock Allen Turner’s rape case, should receive the consequences for giving the perpetrator a lenient sentence that was viewed as unfavorable to the public eye; but rather than have him forcefully removed, the judge should resign as a prosecutor for making a decision unworthy of a prosecutor. Instead of immediately losing his job for an unfair verdict, other factors should contribute to the severity of his punishment. However, it would be more favorable for Persky to relinquish his position as a judge than have his job taken away from him. It is shown through Turner’s case that Persky is likely to be an unqualified judge because his sentence for Turner was unbefitting of a legal prosecutor. His actions had caused

I chose a photograph to rhetorically analyze for this discussion. I saw this photograph on one of my friend's Instagram feed and I had a lot of thoughts about it, so I thought it would be perfect to analyze. My initial reaction to this photograph is thinking how creative, yet strange the imagination of the creator is. Of course, this photograph is lift to interpretation, but I perceived the purpose of the photograph to be of amusement because it makes me laugh and smile every time I see it. Even if you personally do not like cats, I am sure that this photograph will make you smile.
Justin who is an young adult who is serving life in prison for the participation of a crime that led to murder. Justin appears to come from a supportive middle class family who loves him, he is seemingly healthy, and has age appropriate knowledgeable, his will to continue to believe in himself and own his wrong’s is quite honorable and a redeeming quality. If there’s something the V.A. has a long history with, it’s neglect. The very people that the facility is supposed to make feel welcome and serve to the best of their ability are most often the victims, sometimes repeatedly. Workers routinely keep patients on hold for extended amounts of time, whether it’s for a good reason or just convenient for them. If an employee wants to catch up on a book while a client is waiting on the phone, they face scarce chances of punishment (Hegseth). This has led to several scandals in the V.A., many in the last few years.
On January 18th, 2015, 20 year old Brock Turner, former Stanford swimmer, was arrested on five charges of rape, for raping an unconscious female after a party behind a dumpster. When police arrived they found Turner pinned down by two Swedish graduate students, Carl-Fredrik Arndt and Peter Jonsson. After his trial in March of 2016 was convicted of three cases of sexual assault . These charge have a maximum 14 year sentence, however, Judge Aaron Persky sentenced Turner to six months in prison and three years of probation, however, new reports suggest that Turner could be released after serving half of his sentence. Judge Persky's “lenient” sentencing has sparked national and international rage, from Congressman Ted Poe calling the sentence ‘pathetic’ while speaking to the House of Representative, to 1.1 million signing the change.org petition to “Remove Judge Aaron Persky from the Bench For Decision in Brock Turner rape case.”.
In regards to college campus rape I have a personal interest in this because I am a college student whose statistic of being raped is higher. This subject is relevant to me and my life. I know this is a problem because 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape. Women 18-24 who are in college are 3 times more likely than women in general to be raped. Rape should be addressed seriously, so students know what constitutes as rape.
Nurses are typically a target in these situations because they are consistently in contact with the patient throughout their shift. When nurses interact with patients, their actions and reactions to certain circumstances can, most of the time, determine the next interaction with the patient. The behavior of the nurse and the patient are essential at this step, as negativity from one person can cause negative behavior as a response from the next person. Nurses cannot control the actions and behaviors of others; however, they can
