Sir Wilfrid Laurier served as a member of Parliament for over forty years. He was the leader of the Liberal party from 1887 to 1919, and prime minister of Canada from 1896 to 1911. His accomplishments were on such a scale that he is remembered today as one of Canada's greatest political leaders. When Laurier became prime minister, he took over a country that had been politically adrift since the death of Sir John A. Macdonald in 1891. Four prime ministers had followed Macdonald in quick succession.
He was the tenth prime minister of Canada. During the 21 years that he served as Prime Minister, the longest ever served in history, Mackenzie faced lots of hard decisions. Although Mackenzie had limited fans, he proved himself as an effective leader socially, nationally, and through the very dark times of war. Mackenzie made lots of important allies during the war, and quite possibly prevented Canada from breaking out into a civil war. He would go find prostitutes and persuade them to give in their work and turn to God as he volunteered once a week at the children’s hospital.

Summary: The article opens by stating that the liberal party, and Justin Trudeau, is very behind in the polls when compared to the conservative party (Millard, 2021). It then goes on to state that even if the conservative party win the most votes between the parties, Trudeau could still be the next Prime Minister by once again forming a legislative coalition with the NDP as they did in 2022. Those that voted conservative, however, could become enraged and they could claim the vote to be “undemocratic, illegitimate, rigged” (Millard, March 14, 2024, p. 3). Canada could see an event unfold like the USA did on January 6, 2021. If Trudeau was to once again form a coalition with the NDP to be prime minister again while the Conservatives won the plurality, there

He states that the Canada’s current economy unfairly treats the middle and working classes, as they work more than before and yet make less . Since Harper is the Prime Minister it is then his fault. Considering he served for twenty-three year and he served as the longest standing Canadian PM through the great depression and a world war, he made few mistakes mostly not recognizing and acting during the depression. William Lyon Mackenzie King was a semi-successful prime minister considering the economic and military conflict that was present in Canada at the time of his reign. He had a close friendship with the American prime minister, Franklin Roosevelt ultimately helping the Canadian and british war effort.
Today, Canada is seen as a multicultural and peaceful nation that has evolved over the course of history. This great nation would never have been possible without the impact that former Prime Minister, Lester B. Pearson left on this country. His achievements and insights profoundly affected and shaped Canada’s nation. First, peacekeeping is an important part of Canada’s heritage and a reflection of its fundamental beliefs that Pearson implemented after dealing with world changing situations and winning a Nobel Prize. Also, his contributions as a liberal leader as well as the flaws and controversy with Diefenbaker did in fact define this country.
There are two main reasons why Justin Trudeau should be the next Prime Minister of Canada. These two reasons are, he plans to keep CBC/Radio Canada, and he is planning on lowering taxes for the middle class. Firstly, Stephen Harper cut millions of funding dollars for the CBC. This is totally unreasonable. CBC is Canada’s CNN, it is known all over the world and for Stephen Harper to continue to reduce its spending towards it is totally unacceptable.
