Can you imagine being sentenced to life with no parole being a teenager? Opinions are being made about whether or not teens should get tried as adults for serious crimes. Each case is different and it’s a very strong opinion that is hard to decide. Juveniles who commit serious crimes should be tried as adults on a case-by-case basis because studies show that juvenile brains are still developing, because, and because. Should juveniles get treated in such a harsh way at such a young age. Researchers have learned that juveniles' brains are still not fully developed. The rational part of a teen's brain isn't fully developed and won't be until age 25 or so. In fact, recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain's rational part.The Information shows that a juveniles brain still isn't fully developed so when juveniles commit serious crimes they are still not aware of what their consequences might be.
