She ultimately creates a new life for herself. Jarvis Lorry aids Miss. Manette along the journey of her new, vivid life. Although in the presence of auroral beings, the shadows find their way in. Sydney Carton is similar in that manner. His life has been nothing but meaningless drinking and despair, until Lucie enlivens his life.
