1. Context: Kankakee, IL 2. Issue: Youth delinquency and violence 3. Mission: To glorify God by creating a better community for its residents by decreasing youth delinquency and violence in the city of Kankakee. 4. Vision Statement: The transformation of Kankakee will make the community’s dreams into a reality. The youth of Kankakee will make the city's dreams of peace a reality. Kankakee will become changed through the hands of the youth. Kankakee will also become a community that is heard through the voice of the youth. Decreasing violence among youth will be a springboard that helps to decrease violence across all age groups. Decreasing youth delinquency will enable a turnaround in economic development in the community as youth in the city thrive. This dream that will be made into reality will bring further employment opportunities to the city through local business and other avenues. We ask that those people pray for covering for us as we seek God first and throughout our efforts. We ask that they pray for our police officers and authority figures in the community along with the youth and their loved ones as they make daily choices and decisions that affect the entire community. We ask for continual prayer for the community as a whole and that there is ongoing positive change in the community that is in line with God’s will.
