If you thought Bill Gates was the richest man on the planet then I am sorry to fail you but it is the great Emperor of Mali, Kankan Musa. Kankan made Mali one of the most important countries in the sub Sahara trade route. Also he took He took the Empire of Mali to its peak and controlled the most valuable item in the 1300’s, which in the ancient African was gold. Gold was used as currency. However Kankan Musa’s collected his thoughts and went along to pilgrimage to Mecca, which made him known in North Africa. Musa made his pilgrimage to Mecca in 1300's with a procession of 80,000 men. Which gave Musa his wealthiest brand because of giving away gold to the poor along his route. Also Musa wasn't only giving gold to the cities he passed on …show more content…

Kankan built a new mosque every Friday in any city that he so happened to pass by. Musa embarked on buildings and was a great builder. Which I also suggested Musa brings God in the picture a lot which I feel he looked up to him such as Musa looks for guidance and strength to go on and be the man he was. As noted "Only God alone can accomplish this and it is beyond my power" which I assume then Musa's journey whom were in awe of his wealth and extensive procession and records exist in a variety of sources because of his believing in God and knowing nothing will be possible without him. Which again made me think about how I imagine every man are. God once told his people to do well to those who hate you. As I assumed Kankan had a lot of people who loved him because I can only imagine because he was an incredible man overall but to be incredible brings hatred. Which God knows our weaknesses and has promised to provide the power we need when we don't have the strength to do what he asks us to do so the good news is that if you don't know how to love this enemy, God will help you. As I continue to read the passage I noticed how Musa reminds me so much of my dad and my uncles. Musa was an outstanding leader but never looked down on anyone, which as my dad or uncles will do also and God continue to bless
