Within the past month one name has made headlines consistently- Kanye West. Kanye West is a 21st century rapper and lifestyle icon in today’s social media and most recently a topic of controversial debate. Kanye made a comment two weeks ago in which he revealed his belief that 400 years of slavery “sounds like a choice”. This particular comment was made during an interview in TMZ headquarters. The interview took place on Tuesday, May 2nd of 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Kanye West’s express of love towards President Trump led to his outrageous remark about slavery. In ABC’s story, “Kanye west responds to backlash over ‘slavery’ comments, calling it a choice” and the story from CNN, “Kanye West just said 400 years of slavery was a choice” reporters explain with detail Kanye’s specific support towards Trump. With either pictures of tweets, quotes or videos, all news sources consist of information regarding the comments and concerns Kanye received from others. ABC news’ website provides Twitter responses and videos of Kanye’s feelings along with biased opinions from communities about both slavery and president Trump.The statement that Kanye had been hooked opioids and hospitalized for over a week remains apparent within all three news websites. Both Fox news and ABC 30 have an additional story of one of the TMZ staff members named, Van Lathan who lashed out on Kanye moments after he judges slavery. The news sites quote Lathan's response back to Kanye, with either a picture or video clip of the scene helping society to visualize the epidemic. CNN furthered Kanye’s adoration for President Trump with a short video clip from an interview with Charlamagne Tha God. On the other hand, ABC without any purpose stated that ever since a certain incident with Taylor Swift at the MTV awards, radio connections have not been the same for West. With no other websites bringing up the idea of Kanye wanting to run for president the next upcoming election, CNN aired a clip of West’s conversation about his thoughts revolving presidency. A story that is all divergently told is Kanye’s cause and reasoning behind opioids. ABC reports that Kanye’s health took a downfall after his wife, Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris during a tour. West got addicted to opioids after the doctors had prescribed from the hospitalization and an increase of pills were taking during the Pablo tour was what Fox news had recorded, contrasting, CNN states the opioid addiction resulted due to Kanye not wanting to be called fat.
