In the recent years, Kanye West or Yeezy (a nickname of his), has grown to be more than just the face of rap music. He has translated to singing more than rapping, become the face of GQ’s most stylish man, married Kim Kardashian, and much more. But the real question is how he came to this point and how is he so much more popular than the average rapper? Kanye West dropped out of Chicago State University in 1997 to pursue his interest of music and specifically hip hop or rap. During this time, he had his first break with Jay-Z who hired him to help work on his album, The Blueprint. He himself produced his first album in 2004, The College Dropout. In album and music videos, he is depicted as the “Dropout Bear.” While non significant at the time, this later appears in multiple other album covers and becomes one of Kanye’s well known symbols.
