Having change our lives is part of human existence and we can go through these changes physically or mentally. Whether you grow a foot taller or are exhilarated by going on a roller coaster, change in our world is evident. Not only do changes happen in the real world, they are also found in pieces of literature. In The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, there are many characters that undergo changes over the course of the play. However, Katherina Minola is a character that drastically changes from a unruly, violent women to a loyal, devoted and definitely more proper lady.
Kate’s actions at the beginning of the playwright are extreme rude and inconsiderate to others. For instance after an argument with Bianca, Kate roars, ““Her silence

Case in point, Kate meticulously comes up with a speech, and within it, she states, “Thy husband is thy lord, thy life, thy keeper, thy head, thy sovereign, one that cares for thee,” (IV, V, 95). She eloquently speaks this, and shows her loyalty and respect to her husband. At this point, in addition to being in accord, she goes out of way to present this to men, including Petruchio. Moreover, Kate agrees with Petruchio, regardless if it defies logic. Firstly, Kate states, “I know it is the moon.” In response to that Petruchio disagrees and states, “Nay then you lie, it is the blessed sun,” and Kate responds, “Then God be bless’d, it is the blessed sun,” (IV, V, 95-97). These statements show how Kate follows whatever Petruchio says and does not ask questions unlike the beginning of the play when she would create an argument out of nothing. This quote is very interesting, because in this case it might have not been the correct decision to agree, but this nonetheless shows loyalty. This dialogue demonstrate how Petruchio has had a great influence on Kate’s
