Katy Perry Covergirl ad opens up with her wearing a big black dress with a black backdrop with the Covergirl logo flashing with a bright red color. Next it shows her wearing the mascara and they zoom in to her eye to show the plumpy look. Then it shows her walking with a big tube of mascara with a pump on it. Next she starts pumping up the balloon At this point of the ad she's explaining how the Covergirl mascara gives you volume. Her dress starts blowing up. At the end of the ad her big black dress starts to float with multiple balloons in the background. In this advertisement Katy Perry might have been looking through the age group as 13 and up for females that love makeup and beauty products or who feel self conscious about their selves. Therefore also she was persuading them to buy her other beauty products. The visual strategies shown in this commercial is when Katy perry put on the mascara when she was singing. When you see the Katy Perry “pump up your look” mascara commercial you can't help but to buy it. In my opinion I loved the commercial and my mom has the mascara. In the commercial Katy Perry was helping the product cover girl and persuading the viewers that if this is a good mascara then you should buy more of my products. The textual strategies used in this commercial is when she was pumping up the balloons with the mascara tube she was demonstrating how the mascara does the same thing with your eyelashes.
