.Kay started out as lab assistant for a professor she had at the University she attended. She went to medical school at the same university she attended where she was a psychiatry intern helping patients that needed help. She enjoyed being an intern and enjoyed attending medical school. Kay Jamison works as a professor as a Professor of Mood Disorders at John Hopkins University. She is known for giving speeches across the country. In addition, she has been successful in her writing career. She is a traveling professor for different universities in England. A time of importance was when she began teaching in England as a traveling professor. While in England she would conduct research, and meet with professors. I believe that she will continue her contributions to the medical field.

She found comfort in reading classic books and poetry. She would conduct experiments as a young girl which lead to her studying medicine. She participated in sports when she was in elementary and middle school. As she became older, she enjoyed reading academic journals as well as writing poetry. I found it interesting how much poetry and the number of journals she read during her spare time. She enjoyed competing by participating in sports. She found pleasure in purchasing albums of different genres of music. I feel that her interests are predominately academic such as reading journal articles or writing poetry. She enjoyed reading classic books and poetry. She would listen to music to cope with her feelings daily. Her interests have stayed the same as she became older. Strengths that I found in her life was her interest in music which could help her to regulate her moods. She enjoyed writing and reading poetry books which helps her mind to process the emotions of poetry instead of her focusing on her own
