Balancing divine transcendence and immanence, that discerns truths biblically is Evangelical Theology. This is achieved through modern theology interpretations as to where evangelical theology must be within limits to. The central theological concern, per Grenz and Olson, figures in the contribution that transcendence and immanence relations tells us the direction that has been taken in the past century. We can have a critical evaluation of evangelical theology through the terms of the assertion of Grenz and Olson through researching the relationship to evangelical theology and God's transcendence and immanence.

Two evangelical theologians named, Bernard Ramm and Carl Henry, held on to their friendship, even though they both had different views on transcendence and immanence. Ramm and Henry were both representatives for evangelism (Grenz and Olson 1992 p.288). Both Henry and Ramm tackled the issues that dwelt within modern theology (Spradley, 1992). Forged by Henry, was the link between God and revelation. This concept was a mediating advocate of the divine self-discloser. Henry’s thought on transcendence and immanence was that the word of God was transcends our world and that it is given through transcendence and not immanent though man’s imagination. Through this, the emphasis on transcendence and immanence, Henry asserted that the question concerning the Scripture was the final analysis. This was not an issue about the Bible but of God himself (Grenz and Olson, 1992, p. 294). Grenz position concerning transcendence and immanence, is that, the word of God can be nothing but a servant of the unveiling of Jesus Christ who came from Scripture. Scripture is a testimony that reveals Christ to all mankind. In Grenz and Olson’s work, they attempt to show Christian truths to be reduced into theology of transcendence and immanence.
