Assuming the business has been registered with licensing, permits, and has completed other necessary phases like hiring employees and renting the building, these milestones are what can be expected from Kellbell’s Sweets. Around three months before the grand opening, advertisements will be sent out through newspapers and online websites. Kellbell’s will have their own Twitter account and Facebook page which will give the option to invite people to like each page and this will help reach potential customers. Advertisements placed on social media throughout the first 3 months before opening will ideally draw the attention to many customers. After a few months, the goal is to start making a steady income, and to help with that, there will be pie making classes added. This will ideally bring in more money to Kellbell’s Sweets. And after about a year, during the second year, deliveries will be added. Deliveries will include regular pies, individual pies, mini pies and pie pops. It is a first come, first serve delivery unless they call ahead for delivery or in other words if a customer wants Kellbell’s pies at a special event, delivery can turn into catering in these cases. Catering can be added to deliveries here. Depending on the size of the catering event, there will be a certain time frame to call ahead. For events that will require over 10 pies will need to call 2-4 weeks in advance. Catering events that will have less than 10 pies will only need to call 1 week in advance. After three full years, Kellbell’s will ideally be making a profit and will have paid off all loans. The Loop in Chicago offers a lively population to tap into with great foot traffic from Chicagoans and visitors of Chicago.
