Ken Griffey Jr attempted suicide. Junior was angry and depressed during the decision of suicide. Junior was a very good athlete, he gave it his all in each game. Born in he was offered a football scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. He turned the scholarship down and made himself available for the baseball draft in 1987. He married his beautiful wife Melissa Gay on October 24,1992. He had three kid’s son Ken Griffey III Trey, a daughter Taryn Kennedy, and a adopted son Tevin Kendall. Griffey and his dad played 51 games together before his dad retired in 1991. Jr hit his Great American ball park on May 31 Vs. the Braves, and On June 20th 2004 ken Griffey jr became just the 20th player to hit 500 career homeruns. He won 4 American League home run titles, 10 gold gloves, and 7 silver slugger awards. Ken Griffey was drafted by Seattle mariners in the 1st Round 1st pick in 1987. Griffey has played with his father on the same team at the same time, and they became the first father and son duo to play together in 1990 & 1991 “Seattle Mariners”. He played alongside shortstop Alex Rodriquez on Seattle Mariners. In 2000 he got traded to reds. Griffey was introduced to the Seattle Mariners Hall of fame last year, played 9 seasons for the Reds from 2000 until he was traded to the Chicago White sox on July 31, 2008. He got traded to the White Sox in July 31, 3 homers in 41 games was less than white sox expected after that season he signed as “free agent” with mariners to be designated
