Throughout the history of the National Basketball Association, better known as the NBA, there have been numerous dominating scorers that have been in the league. Kevin Durant has established himself as one of these dominating scorers and is an offensive force to be reckoned with. Things like shooting ability, versatility, consistency, and sheer skill are all traits that make Durant such a dominating offensive force and the greatest scorer the NBA has ever seen. Kevin Durant was born on September 29th, 1988 in Washington D.C. He was raised by his single mother, Wanda Durant, and has three siblings, Brianna, Tony, and Rayvonne. Kevin Durant has averaged 27 points or more per season which has only been accomplished by a select few in the history of the NBA. Durant was drafted the second overall pick in 2007 by the Seattle Supersonics, who later became the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his rookie season, he averaged 20 points per game and won the Rookie of the Year award. In the 2013-2014 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he averaged 32 points per game, had a 50% field goal percentage, and almost had a 40% three-point percentage winning him his very first MVP award that year. After his nine seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant was traded to the Golden State Warriors, where in his very first season he averaged 25.1 points per game, shot 53% from the field, and shot 37% from three. During this remarkable season with the Warriors, KD and his teammates would go on to win the Championship against the Cleveland Cavaliers. During the series against Cleveland, Durant averaged an astonishing 35 points per game, shooting 55% from the field, and 47% from three. This outstanding performance was able to win him the Finals MVP award.
