Khaled Hosseini When one considers being a writer, one generally contemplates about writing multiple works. One author who only wrote three books, Khaled Hosseini, is known for writing about his love of his home country, Afghanistan. Throughout his life, Hosseini never intended on becoming a serious author, he just wrote stories for fun. When his homeland was consumed by war and dictatorship, Hosseini wanted to share what his home country was like when he was a child, so he decided to write a book. Both of his parents were skilled professionals ("Khaled Hosseini"). His father was a diplomat for the Afghan Foreign Ministry, and his mother was a secondary-school teacher (Luebering). He grew up loving Persian poetry thanks to his mother since she taught Persian literature ("Khaled Hosseini"). Hosseini spent the first five years of his life in Kabul until the Foreign Ministry sent his family to Tehran, Iran ("Khaled Hosseini.").
