In the article “Religions: The Basics” by Malory Nye talks about female writers, inequality and the distinction between males and females. In the article it mentioned how the term Androcentricism assumes that the male’s perspective and experiences are the most vital and key point of reference. I agree with Mary Daly that the concept of belief in a male deity leads to profound sexual inequalities. The reason I agree with Mary Daly is due to the fact there is a lot of gender differences and that women are viewed as inferior, while men are more superior. It is surprising that in western culture, they can’t go a day without woman-male distinction.

As a young adolescent, I found my father’s copies of The Cost of Discipleship as well as his Letters and Papers from Prison. I plodded through them but was really inspired by his style and gentle spirit.
The Holocaust was a genocide that disposed of many Jews, of the survivors there was Elie Wiesel who held God high above him but later looked down upon him. Like others, Elie started to develop a feeling of hatred against God because of all the hardships they had to go through while God did nothing for them. Elie Wiesel relationship with God transforms during the years he left Sighet, his home, till the time he was liberated in Buchenwald. His feelings do vary but begin with his devotion, leading to doubt, and ending with a loss. Elie Wiesel was only a young boy at the time living in Sighet, who would cry while praying to god without a known reason.

Although Friedrich Nietzsche’s ideas and work have long been associated with atheism and even the antisemitism that would eventually lead to the Holocaust, I think a slightly more fitting description of his point of view in The Genealogy of Morals might be “anticlerical”. While I believe there are good arguments that can be made for both atheism and anticlericalism, Nietzsche seems to focus most of his energy on critiquing religious clergy such as priests as well as organized religion and its impact on morality, rather than critiquing belief in God. Every human being in one way or the other belongs to a particular religion. Since religion makes us worship one God then it should be binding all of us. Actually it is not, it rather tears people apart day in and day out .It is true that religion has influenced society positively in diverse ways, but the bad outweighs the good. Thus I think religion causes more harm than good to the society.
