Arthur was the first born son of King Uther Pendragon and heir to the throne (" King Arthur - The Legend"). The legend of King Arthur had been very popular in Wales before the 11th century. King Arthur is a mythological figure who at the time was the head of the kingdom Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. These tales are mostly about a hero who has done something incredible to save the day. There is much reason why legends could still be popular today. Many myths and legends have been passed on for life lessons to people of all ages. They are passed down orally and as the years have gone on the stories never die off. Some stories are now viewed as literary masterpieces. The legend of King Arthur represents many heroic qualities such as brotherhood, magic, strength, and perfection.

King Arthur's sword Excalibur was very powerful. "Excalibur's best known magical property is the ability of its scabbard to heal wounds" ( Ancient Origins). So this basically means whenever King Arthur had the sword with him he could not be hurt. He obviously didn't live forever because his evil half-sister stole it from him. It is known as one of the most powerful and meaningful swords in history. " When the knight finally throws Excalibur into the lake, a hand reaches out of the water to receive the sword and pulls it under" ( Ancient Origins). This shows how much strength the sword had, any other sword wouldn't have done this. The sword is so strong that only King Arthur himself can take it out of the Stone. King Arthur is the only one capable of even having the sword. The sword could make you immortal so in that case, it shows how much power and strength it
