King Arthur and the legend of king arthur is a famous legend that has been told for centuries. While many historians believe it to be a legend it is thought to contain some semblance of truth. There is many different legends on the tale of King Arthur as this tale can be found in writing from the 12th century. According to King Arthur - The Legend he was the son of King Uther Pendragon. When Arthur was born Uther was advised by Merlin, a magician, to hide Arthur and no one should know his identity because Merlin feared future conflict when Uther died. Merlin was right to hide arthur as after Uther died there was add conflict on who should become the next king. To settle who the heir of the throne should be Merlin stuck a sword in a stone and wrote "Whoso pulleth out this sword of this stone is the rightwise born king of all England." Arthur was the man to pull the sword out and hence became the king. With his newfound position he fought against Saxon’s with a league of knights and once victorious created his kingdom in Camelot. Along with this he created the fellowship known as the knights of the round table who fought off mythical beast, rescued damsels in distress, and ultimately were searching for the holy grail.
