Mansa Musa was the Emperor of Mali in the fourteenth century, he was known for being the richest ruler. He was born around 1230 and died around 1337. Mansa Musa is mostly known for his journey to the Muslim holy city in Mecca where he was introduced him to rulers in the Middle East and in Europe. Musa came to the throne of West Africa’s Mali Empire through a practice of appointing a deputy when a king goes on his pilgrimage to Mecca or journeys somewhere else and later naming the deputy as heir. According to historians, Musa was appointed the deputy of Abubakari II.
Noble Drew Ali, or Timothy Drew, founded The Moorish Science Temple of America based on the belief that African-Americans originated from Moors in Northwest Africa. He established the new religion of Moorish Science and believed himself to be a prophet sent to save the moors of America. Despite his radical views on race, Drew Ali mostly focused on giving African-Americans a new sense of identity, inspiring civic involvement, and forging bonds between all races and cultures. = =

In the fifth year of his reign Shishak the king of Egypt came against him with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horsemen, and innumerable African soldiers in allies with the Lubim (Libyans), the Sukkiims and the Ethiopians, and invaded Jerusalem. The Second attempt by Scar to kill Mufasa and Simba didn’t go as planned but it worked to his advantage. Scar tricked young Simba into a valley alone, telling him that Mufasa is planning a surprise for him. As he placing Simba in the exact location, Scar gives the hyenas the signal to start a stampede. Scar then lies to Mufasa saying that Simba is in the stampede. Mufasa recuses his son and dies in the process.
In Disney's The Lion King, the main character, Simba, is a good example of an epic hero. Throughout the course of the movie, Simba displays five epic hero traits. These traits are noble birth, humility, great strength, great courage, and a flaw. At the beginning of the movie, Simba is born to queen Sarabi and king Mufasa. He had a noble birth as his father was the king and his mother was the queen.
