The first character we're going to talk about is not directly related to the history of Ethiopia. According to the Bible, Solomon was the third king of Israel, successor and son of King David, and he was the last king of the United Monarchy of Judah and Israel. The Jews consider the period of his kingdom as an ideal age, similar to that of the Augustan Age in Rome. There are many stories that tell of his virtues and his deeds. The main sources, however, remain the Bible, the Quran and the Kebra Nagast, the sacred book of Ethiopia.
