How far do you go for forgiveness? We all have done something in our life that we are not proud of but we try to fix it however we can, this is redemption. Recently I read the book The Kite Runner, in this book there are many situations in which one of the characters is seeking out redemption for some bad they had done and they need to be forgiven for. Although some of the characters try many different ways and times to gain redemption, they never really seem satisfied with where they end up. Redemption is able to be gained, but in most situations not to the full extent that it needs to be. I believe this because the action you committed to changed your life and you as a whole human being. This also can be true if the person who needs redemption …show more content…

Redemption is able to be gained fully in any given situation by anyone. There are many different circumstances in which a person may need to be redeemed. It can be anywhere from an “I’m sorry” to building a relationship back up with someone. It is never easy but it is able to be reached. An example of an individual gaining redemption no matter what bad they had done was found in a book I had recently read. “And this is what I want you to understand, that good, real good, was born out of your father’s remorse. So when we say it is possible for everyone to gain redemption that is true but they may not reach the full potential they need to be fully forgiven. An example of this is from an article I had read, stated in the article it said, “This choice leaves our previously well-polished character and outstanding reputation suddenly marred by guilt and shame. It leaves us with a lack of hope” (Senghor). This quote explains that as soon as the individual commits the act and knows it was wrong, they will feel that they can not gain redemption. The individual feels lost as a person and thinks that they can not get back to their “normal” self again, no matter what. Another reason in which redemption may not be able to be gained back was if an individual has no connection with the individual they need to gain redemption from. This can happen in many cases, whereas the individual passes away or is no longer around. A specific example of this came from the same book previously mentioned. In this book Amir the main character was found in many situations where he needed to gain redemption, one of them was with his best friend Hassan. Only problem with him gaining that redemption is that Hassan had passed away before he got the chance. “And I dream that someday you will return to Kabul to revisit the land of our childhood. If you do, you will
