People can tend to have completely different opinions over the same exact thing. An example of this is the topic, what does it take to be a good husband. Some people think it takes different characteristics than others think it does. But there are some distinct features that all good husbands should have, such as honesty, being supportive, and being loving and caring. In the novel The Kite Runner, a woman named Janie has three controversial husbands throughout the novel, who all have their own qualities in the marriages. Logan and Joe are able to provide physical and monetary support for Janie, but Tea Cake, even without the wealth, is the one able to make her truly happy. He isn’t a very good husband for her either, however unlike Logan he starts off as a great husband, speaking in rhymes and doing sweet things for her all the time, but after awhile all that fades away. And he begins to disregard her, and always make her do work in the business, similar to Logan with the farm. And abusing her at home, until at one point, he goes to the lengths of calling her names and talking bad about her in the store in front of everyone, which angers Janie to the point where she says things about him right back. Logan exclaims “Don’t stand dere rollin’ yo’ pop eyes at me wid yo’ rump hangin’ nearly to yo’ knees!” To which Janie responded “Ah’m uh woman every inch of me, and Ah know it. Dat’s uh whole lot more’n you kin say. You big-bellies round here and put out a lot of brag, but ‘tain’t nothin’ to it but yo’ big voice. Talkin’ ‘bout me lookin’ old! When you pull down yo’ britches, you look lak de change uh life.” After hearing her say this about him Joe slaps Janie, which isn’t something a good husband would do. This situation is what causes the marriage to really go downhill, and soonafter Joe gets sick and he dies, while still fighting with Janie and overall being a bad
