What is redemption? Redemption is “the action of saving or being saved from evil”. The question is can anyone seek redemption. The answer is yes no matter how bad of a thing a person has done they can always have a chance to redeem themselves. Redemption is a theme seen in the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and redemption is also seen in life today. In the book the kite runner a child called Amir does many tricks on a friend and servant of his called Hassan. Amir believes that his father baba loves Hassan more then him when baba says “You know what always happens when the neighborhood boys tease him? Hassan steps in and fends them off. After amir hears this he thinks that Baba is ashamed of him which causes amir to exploit all of Hassan's flaws. One of the first things amir does to Hassan is in chapter 4 when he says “My favorite part of reading to Hassan was when we came across a big word that he didn't know. Id tease him, expose his ignorance.”(Amir). This is only one of the many ways amir tricked and played Hassan. During a walk home from a movie amir and Hassan are confronted by a bully named Assef who yells at them and calls them names amir does nothing to stop it but Hassan takes out a slingshot and points it at Assef eventually leading him to leave. This action by Hassan makes Amir realize that Baba was right he couldn't stand up for himself from this point on Amir was determined to get his father to love him at any coast. Later on during a kite flying tournament Amir and Hassan fly a kite together and in the end win the tournament Hassan decides to run down the kite for amir. After some time passed Amir goes
