In the 21st century in the NBA, There were a lot of great basketball players who played the game very well, even standed out among other players. But there’s only two players that really stands out among other names, and that is Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. If technology has apple and Microsoft as their top rivalry, Coke and Pepsi for pop soda, the NBA has Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. When these two names were being mentioned on a group of friends or in a sports bar, it would definitely start an argument of who really is the best player in the NBA. The League and the fans were always fired up every time this two played against one another. Even ESPN made a commercial about Kobe and LeBron being a puppets and boasted their achievements to one another. They are both an elite players that play very different from one another; Kobe is a pure scorer and LeBron is an all around player. …show more content…

On the other hand, LeBron as well went straight from his high school, St. Vincent–St. Mary in Ohio. Kobe, 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m), played as a shooting guard for the Los Angeles team, while LeBron, 6'8", played at the small forward position.

Kobe were more focus on scoring the basketball than LeBron. He was so good at scoring that he broke the franchise record for scoring at 81 points breaking the record of 71 points held by the Hall of Famer, Elgin Baylor. He broke plentiful records for points in a game and in a season and finished his career as being number 8th of all time in scoring. It was unfortunate that in his career, Kobe suffered a lot of injuries that shortened his career.
