Kohl’s e-commerce has been growing in our area over that past few years and it is becoming a very dominate store in the area while other stores in the mall are shutting down. I am always interested in success stories and how they achieved that success. This is why I picked Kohl’s Department store Kohl’s e-commerce portion of their careers gives a great explanation of what their e-commerce is doing and how they are doing it through their employees. “Online. Mobile. Technology. E-Commerce researches, evaluates and executes new technologies for presenting products, and they are constantly creating new product segments to serve customers with specialized interests. Plus, they get creative thinking up new shopping aids to help make our customers’ online shopping experience fun, easy and personalized.”[1] Their e-commerce works through their use of analytic software (Omniture web analytics) to analyze the data and performance matrices. Through the use of Search Engine Optimization they are able to put their merchandise on the front pages of multiple browser search engines by coordinating the information from marketing and the analytic's index matrices that they use. They have increased their online products and they are keeping many customers simply through their pickup in store with no shipping charges. This is allowing the customers to get whatever they want at lower internet costs while still driving the customers to their stores for more impulse buying of in-store ads. They have also set up their shipping so they can transfer merchandise from one store to another thereby decreasing delivery times for online in-store pickup
