Canberra is located in the lands of the Ngunnawal indigenous people, it is thought that it was named after the aboriginal word Kamberra which means meeting place. In 1908 it was decided to build a new capital at Canberra, in 1912 Walter Burley Griffin (contestant 29) won the competition to design the capital city, there were 137 entrants in total. The city is located 150 kilometres inland, 660 kilometres from Melbourne and 281 kilometres from Sydney. In 1913 the foundation stone of Canberra was laid by the prime minister of the time Andrew Fisher. At first Canberra’s population grew slowly but after World War 2 it sky rocketed climbing from less than 25,000 to 200,000 in around 30
The Kokoda Campaign was a World War II militant initiative, consisting of a series of sequential battles fought between the Japanese and predominantly Australian Allied forces. Kokoda itself, was a small village and airfield at the foothills of the Owen Stanley Mountain Range though, the Kokoda Trail was the setting at which these conflicts transpired. The mountainous road rose over 3000 meters, extending 200 kilometers across Australian territory New Guinea, from Gona in the north, to the administrative centre of Port Moresby in the south. The official commencement of the Kokoda Campaign was on the 21 July 1942, when the Japanese forces landed on the coast near Gona.
My hypotheses states that the Kokoda track was both physically and mentally challenging for both sides fighting because of Its harsh environment. The Kokoda track happened between July and November of 1942. Kokoda first happened when the Japanese invaded Asia while they made their way down the cities. The Kokoda track had three different locations which the war was fought in; Papua New Guinea, Territory of Asia and the Moguls. The track was 40 km northeast of Port Moresby, and a small village of Warope.
Second, the description also leaves out information about the robot, such as how long the robots battery life is. Third, the description also leaves out information about the robot’s memory capabilities. It is unknown if the robot is able to remember every path it has taken and create a map of the maze or if it must continuously make reflex decisions. 3.3 a) Goal: Have the two friends meet in the same city, (i,i), in shortest time possible.
To what extent was the Battle for Kokoda a Disaster? Lauren Knappstein – Year 10 History – Ms Felgate-Pearce The Battle of Kokoda was to a large extent a disaster for the Japanese army fighting in the war. The whole Invasion failed and caused major devastation to Japan and the Japanese soldiers fighting for expansion and supplies. After being through starvation, fatigue and so much devastation, the Kokoda was a true disaster for Japan.
There were many reasons for the allied victory on the Kokoda Track. One of the major factors contributing to the Allied victory was their superior supply line providing soldiers with essential provisions. An American operation at Guadalcanal diverted Japanese troops away from the Kokoda Track, giving the allies an advantage. The Allies had numerical superiority during the middle to end of the New Guinea campaign allowing them to refresh exhausted troops. Finally the Allies had the assistance of the Papuans who carried supplies and cared for their wounded troops.
Dankman is a take on the classic arcade game, PacMan. In Dankman, you play the titular Dankman, on his quest to get blazed. But alas, the ghost Chips, and his spectral buddies, Danky, Stanky, and Ronald, do not approve of Dankman 's ways. For them, there is only one solution. They kill the Dankman.
The Kokoda track consisted of a sequence of battles that occurred in-between July and November during 1942. The countries that were involved in this part of the war were the Japanese and the Allies, mainly the Australians. The battles were initiated in the eastern area of Papua New Guinea. The Japanese arrived at Buna and Gona on the the North Coast of Papua New Guinea during July.
There are two sides to every story to many Australians Kokoda was recognized as the efforts of the Australian soldiers being critical to the defense of Australia against the threat of the Imprial Japanese Army. Such famous historic figures such as paul Keating and John Howard retelling the Kokoda story with the exaggeration of the Anzac’s defending Asutralia. But to some Australian’s such as the former senior historian at the Australia war memorial, DR Peter Stanley, has stated that the Japanese were not planning to make themselves masters of Australia in 1942 and that any Japanese threat to Australia in 1942 was greatly exaggerated by wartime prime minister John Curtin for his own political ends. I t is also known that Hideki Tojo the prime minster of Japan in 1942 stated, as being unfeasible to invade given Australia 's geography and the strength of the Allied defenses. Invading Australia was never an option for the Japanese Imperial Army.
Fred Korematsu was a Japanese American civil rights leader and pioneer. He was born in Oakland, California in 1919, his parents immigrating there to the United States from Japan. His actual name is not Fred at all, it's Kotusi Korematsu, one of his teachers said that he should go by Fred because it would be easier, he would be going by that name for the rest of his life. In 1938 news broke out that Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japanese airplanes, then the next day President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan. There was paranoia around the West Coast, Roosevelt declared that all immigrants of Japanese descent were “alien enemies” if over the age of 14.
Kania Rimu is a goal-setter but more importantly, a go-getter. I met Kania in 2012 while she was in the 9th grade and, she was a very shy and unassuming young lady, very much someone who would blend into the background. In 2015, she is not that girl. As quickly as 2013 rolled in, Kania made a name for herself, by pushing for the chance to take two advanced math classes at the same time. Although this may seem like an easy feat, it is an abnormality at Forest Hills High School.
The Roamer has many social, economic, and political implications for the world and community. Firstly, national parks will have to receive a License so people are able to rent out the Redbot®, and robotic checkups to see if they are in great condition. Secondly, stores can sell this Redbot® in outdoor stores for others to use for personal needs. Thirdly, the Roamer should cost about $124.99 to buy and $19.99 to rent. Altogether, RedBot® Roamer has a balance between all

Throughout history, the human has always envisioned living a lifestyle where chores were considered as a part of the past. With the development of humanoids and androids robots in the 1950’s, chores were really becoming part of the past. Therefore, because robots were able to adapt and meet the needs and wants of humans. As a result, we started to see an increase in both the use and production of robots in factories and households. In the article “The Robot Invasion” the author Charlie Gills, is really able to convey the relevance and effectiveness of a robot through the use of the tone, purpose, and credibility.
Many jobs have become easier by being replaced by robots. Robot are not just the idea of talking mechanical parts as we see in futuristic movies. There are a variety of different types of robotic machines, great majority of them appear in factories and in science technology work fields. Robots in factories help replace a dangerous parts of a job. However, there have been different perspective with robots replacing jobs.
