Organisational theories states that change is unavoidable in a company. Yet, It is up to the company's decision maker to choose when, how and why change. Mazoo Manufacturing Ltd is a company with approximately 100 employees that produces plastic cups for catering. The company's board of director invested in some new machinery in order to increase their level of efficiency, productivity and output levels. Mazoo Manufacturing Ltd chose to make massive changes. That implied some major organisational changes in the job design, production times and even working hours. Evaluation of how successful the company has been In the presentation's extract of Mazoo Manufacturing Ltd 's managing director has given, it is not said how successful they would be. It is only about why and how the change is happening. Importance is given to the employees but the company's interest remains the prime consideration. All they did basically was try making a successful change which is the main aim of Kotter's eight step change model. Without doubt they prioritised an effective one way communication which is not really helpful when it comes to making people accept changes. Kotter's model is more involving, it takes the time to actually create a climate for change. They make the need for change obvious. This model focuses first on the manager and influencers to make them accept and commit to the change. Once these people have boarded in the change; it is way easier the make the whole organisation change. Mazoo should have focused in sharing the urgency of the change. Mazoo once it had developed a climate for change, had to engage and enable the employees. It would benefit them since they will get the chance to show employees that changing is not as scary as it seems. By taking little step and making small successful changes it would happen. If the company had followed this model, by this time they would have gained the employees trust and started a successful change and all that would be left to do is to sustain the change. Which means make sure it is long lasting and integrated in the company's ways and
