The movie “Boyz N’ the Hood” is a story centered on the issues that are seen in the urban areas of Los Angeles every day. Tre (the main character) is raised in a way that seems to be correct but he still ends up being a part of criminal activity. While watching this film in an academic setting it is easy to see the social and political reform messages that are being communicated to the audience. On the political side it is easy to see the race and ethnicity of the film maker while on the social side the audience can tell the filmmaker is spreading a message. All together “Boyz N’ the Hood” is a very good film that depicts the type of stuff that happens in the poorer parts of Los Angeles.
A Hispanic man that works as a locksmith and tries to take care of his daughter and wife, and a Persian family man that is discriminated by an American in a shop and mistaking him from an Arabic man. Some of these people come in contact with each other in some way or another, in a negative situation that deals with racial stereotyping of each other and prejudices. (“Crash (2004 film),” 2015) The Hispanic man takes a distance from the stereotype that Hispanic men are gang members and criminals and does not want to be affiliated with that, he works as a locksmith to support his family. This stereotype was shown as an example when he was working for a white woman, as she loudly expresses her concern that he was going to steal they keys and give it to other gang members so they break in because of his background and his appearance.
This movie did a great job of showing how certain society’s work, races such as African Americans, Hispanics, and Persians/Asians were being treated wrong in the movie, and it displays the sociological concepts.

Is part of the quote said in the opening scene to the movie Crash released in 2004. The movie deals with many social topics that were big at that moment in time and still are thirteen years later in 2017. Three of the main topics are racism, prejudice, and stereotypes. Racism has been seen throughout years and is still being seen today in 2017.
Casual Racism, An Aspect Of Society: Rhetorical Strategies In Get Out Although blatant acts of racism have diminished since the 1900’s, acts of casual racism are now predominant in America. In the film, Get Out, written and directed by Jordan Peele, Peele claims that acts of casual racism are aimed at ethnic minorities. Peele begins to build his credibility by addressing issues of casual racism in the text, targeting the White liberals as his audience, using constraints to encourage empathy for his character Chris, and by covering the controversial issue of America being a “post-racial” society as the exigence in Get Out. The film starts out with an African American man walking in the suburbs. He sees a car and is frightened. A person in a hood strangles him from behind and kidnaps him. This illustrates the fear African Americans have in a white society. The movie then fasts forwards to New York City and turns the focus on Chris who is a successful young photographer.
Walt Kowalski is a retired Korean War veteran with racial biases against ethnic minority groups, especially the individuals in his poor American neighborhood. Walt doesn't express his racism towards a specific group of individuals, but he is perturbed and most resentful of the Hmong immigrants, the Vang Lors, that moved into his neighborhood and are being oppressed by the gangs in the area. His subjectivity towards the Vang Lords specifically started with the son, Thao, being forced to steal his Ford Gran Torino by the neighborhood gang. CHAPTER THREE AN ANALYSIS OF SELECTED CONTEMPORARY HOLLYWOOD WAR MOVIES IN TERMS OF RACISM My goal of this chapter is to analyse selected Hollywood war movies in terms of racism and other racial prejudices. I will examine as follows: Glory (1989) which deals with African American Civil War troops, Windtalkers (2002) which centres around Pacific War and Navajo code talkers, The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) which portrays British soldiers in Japanese captivity. The last two movies Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) were shot simultaneously, by the same director Clint Eastwood, and both tell the same story about the invasion of Iwo Jima through the eyes of an American and Japanese soldier. In all those movies, non-white characters are portrayed stereotypically, negatively and face various types of prejudice or racism despite being often equally important to the storyline.
The film Metropolis ends with the Foreman and Joh Fredersen shaking hands and making peace, after a clash between capitalists and workers. However, that ending doesn't lead us to a clear conclusion and leaves many questions unanswered. This paper seeks to analyze if this peace is a rational one and if the end of the movie is a moment of totalitarianism. Metropolis is an indicative film of class and social issues. It is based on Marx’s class analysis, with the bourgeoisies at the top of the economic hierarchy, managers in the middle and workers at the bottom of the financial scale.
The film American History X is a film about crime fueled by racism. The crime was committed by a man named Derek Vinyard, a white supremacist. The film was adapted to a novel, where there has been a long tradition of African- American women serving as “The Help” for upper-middle class white woman and their families. Descriptions of historical events of the early activities of thecivil rights movement are peppered throughout the novel, as are interactions between the maids and their white employers.
