Being on a team can drive you to your limits, and prove themselves. Everyone, including animals, will have a point in their lives where they have to persevere and become the person they were meant to be. which will force you to persevere. My sister, Kristen and Buck had to learn this lesson the hard way. In Call of the Wild, Buck worked hard to become lead dog, he didn’t even let the previous one get in his way. Similar, my sister, had to force her coach to play her because she felt that she was trying her best and could play. Kristen and Buck have nothing in common besides one important thing, they both had to persevere Mr. Yancey

She is sixteen and has had to go through many challenges to get where she is today. Softball is here one true love and she loves and breathes the game, on the other hand it makes her go through a lot. In the past season was one of the most recent, her assistant coach wanted his daughter to over her. Kristen was the overall better player, but she was in a slump. Her head coach had not known Kristen for as long as the other girl. Then coach decided to start the other girl over Kristen, which then made her question her abilities. As if things couldn’t get any worse, the assistant coach, who’s daughter took over Kristen's spot started to be a jerk. This made her question if she should know even be playing softball. He would scream at her if she made one simple mistake, even at practice. Then tried to mess up her hitting stance by giving her false information and pointless drills. Jokes, they were the worst of all, he would make up little jokes and talk bad about her to the other players. Kristen not starting now made her teammates look at her as less of a player. They wouldn’t let her play shortstop because they thought she couldn’t throw the ball very far. When they would do batting practice everyone would move way in. The worse thing was that her and her teammates were no longer bonding and becoming closer as a team. Determination, is something that Kristen would say that was the key reason. She started coming home from school and would then proceed to hit and throw the ball. She still does this today, even though she has now taken over the starting
