Kurt Cobain was a very inspiring but tortured artist that made a very big impact on his generation. Cobain was a musician and lived to perfect his music but he struggled with drug use and depression most of his life. He was able to speak to people through his music and reached out to share his story of his own personal struggle. As a child he grew up in an unhealthy environment. His parents constantly fought and eventually their marriage ended in a divorce when Cobain was nine years old. Being so young, Cobain did not know how to cope with his parents’ separation and began his search for support. He started listening to punk rock and even befriended a member of a band he was fond of. He then started listening to a variety of bands such as, the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, and Electric Light Orchestra. (Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation. Web. 8 Sept. 2015. . ) Music became a great way for Cobain to become interactive but this also led to his experimentation with drugs. With the split between his parents Cobain spent most of his time residing in various locations surrounded by delinquents leading to his drinking and drug use. Cobain’s constant instability opened up a world of illegal deeds. In 1985 Cobain was arrested for spray painting with a few of his current friends though the others managed to escape before the arrest. Though he repetitively placed himself in similar situations Cobain did manage to bring back his passion for music and formed his first band, “Fecal Matter” but after only a year the band fell through. Though trouble seemed to follow him even after; things started to look up when he founded Nirvana two years later.
