The lack of doctors in Canada remains a significant issue that has to be addressed and changed. The highly strict, lengthy, and challenging medical school admissions process, the naturally stressful healthcare industry, combined with the uneven geographic distribution of doctors, all contribute to the situation that Canada is currently experiencing, especially after COVID 19. In order for doctors to be able to practice, it is crucial that the Canadian government and its provinces tackle these challenges, keeps working to improve working conditions, and creates resources like hospitals and the equipment needed in distant locations.
All societies require healthcare services in order to be thriving and healthy, and doctors play a major role in all societies, they ensure that patients receive medical attention, diagnosis, and treatment, and overall they maintain the health of citizens, therefore …show more content…

On the other hand, urban areas tend to have a more significant concentration of doctors due to a higher demand for healthcare services. Doctors are often drawn to working in popular urban areas because the salaries are higher, the working conditions are better, facilities are good, and there are more room for opportunities, doctors working on rural areas, by contrast have lower salaries, job dissatisfaction, limited resources and opportunities and lastly, they may experience isolation, and therefore often quit. Due to the increased wait times and lack of access to medical care brought on by the doctor shortage, patients frequently travel great distances to access healthcare in urban areas. This may result in an overflow of patients for local doctors, creating a vicious cycle of overwork and burn
