Lady Macbeth's Manipulation

In the first two acts of the play Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is a crazy lady full of ambitions by having a deep desire of becoming queen of Scotland. For example, Lady Macbeth shows her crazy ambitions to Macbeth by wanting to kill King Duncan when stating “O, never Shall sun that morrow see!”(I, V,37). Lady Macbeth telling Macbeth that King Duncan shall not see the sun tomorrow indicates that she wants him gone by day's end. The mistress wants the king gone to improve her social status to make her more of a more powerful person. In addition, Lady Macbeth goes as far as to use manipulation when saying “When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would Be so much more the man”(I, VII,51). The queen of Scotland must be powerful full, whole-hearted, kind, and in charge. Also, they need to have trust in their citizens. Lady Macbeth should not be the queen of Scotland because she is a lady that goes from being a powerful, Ambitious woman to a frail girl scared of her own actions. In Acts III-V, Lady Macbeth changes into a paranoid and guilt-filled girl. Furthermore, Lady Macbeth starts to feel unsure about what she did “Naught's had, all's spent, Where our desire is got without content”(III, II,104). Lady Macbeth is guilt-ridden from her actions because she is unsure of what she has done. She has started to become scared because of the backlash that may come. For instance, Lady Macbeth lost her sanity when she started seeing blood on her hands “Here’s the smell of the blood still. All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand” (V, I,191). Lady Macbeth has lost her ambition from the start of the play and has become scared of the acts she has done.
