With the support of my family and the endless all-nighters filled with hard work, I graduated Lakeland University as a double major in Hospitality Management and Spanish. I am honored to have the chance to become a recipient of the Clarence H. Koehler Award which praises how the spirit of Lakeland has enhanced some of my best characteristics: dedication, team-work, and leadership. As soon as I set foot on Lakeland’s Campus, it welcomed me with its beautiful scenery and the sense of home. During my years at college, it was proved to me that Lakeland is not just a school-- it is a family. Peers an staff supported me, along with all other fellow Muskies, in any endeavor I would embark in. By having this known support, and through all my involvement on campus, Lakeland University has helped me become the successful, young professional I am today. …show more content…

I completed the task of organizing an entire spring break trip in Colorado, for our club to build homes for families in need. I was blown away from the help and support that our Lakeland community had given me during each phase of this trip. That support was also exemplified while planning events and activities for the other on-campus organizations I was involved with -- Spanish Club, Badminton Club, Hospitality Club, and the National Spanish Honors Society. Planning these events helped instill the sense of community among the campus.
Not only was I heavily involved in organizations, but I was also a great supportive member for the Resident Life team on campus, being a Resident Assistant for two years. During this time, I truly embraced the Lakeland spirit. I was able to connect with many of my peers and aid in their success, by being a person anyone can approach with questions or help. I was also able to help many Muskies academically by being a Spanish Tutor for two
