Lana Del Rey composed the song “Young and Beautiful.” The lyrics to this song portrays the relationship between Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan from the movie The Great Gatsby. It shows the fickleness of their relationship with one another, but also a soft cry from both people. The line “Will you still love me when I am no longer young and and beautiful” portrays character vulnerability. They long for one another, yet know there is something that prohibits them from believing in the love that bloomed between them. Carraway finds out later in the movie that his mysterious neighbor, Jay Gatsby, holds extravagant parties every Saturday night to capture Nick’s cousin, Daisy Buchanan, after meeting and falling in love with her a few years ago.
