Wright continues the telling of this historical event, under the topic of Fidelismo and the radicalization of Latin American politics. The combination of Castro’s actions and Che Guevara’s calls for revolution in the western hemisphere had a direct and profound effect on Latin American politics. This powerful force came to be known as Fidelismo and broken down to its core “it was simply the attitude that revolution should be pursued immediately” (Wright p. 39). On of the most noticeable symptoms of Fidelismo was an intense growth of demands for change. Wright notes that during this time, the intensity of political activities in many other Latin American countries increased, especially after Castro’s victory.

For this to gain political over the Peninsulas and settle for acts of mass civil disobedience.
Politics in twentieth-century Latin America changed the ways men and women were allowed to function in government and society. Traditional gender roles , held mostly by men, held women back from working and participating in government activities for most of history. As the twentieth-century moved on this began to change, and feminism and women's suffrage challenged the patriarchal views held by many members of society in Latin America. Many feminists emerged in twentieth-century Latin America, these women fought for their rights to participate in the government, and to vote.
Social hierarchy plays an instrumental role in determining what foods people ate and preferred throughout Latin America. Often times certain foods were seen as superior to others as were certain people. One's status in society could oftentimes be associated with the foods they ate and position along the food distribution ladder. One prime example of food's role in determining social hierarchy is the difference of preferences concerning new world and old world food products. Indigenous communities of latin america and spaniards had diets that were extremely dissimilar.

If the fire of revolution will succeed in burning down the injustice it faces, it must first be started by a spark. While Latin America was still controlled by Trujillo, a fire was heating, but who was responsible for the flames? The spark was ignited by several people, but perhaps those who most fed the flames were the Mirabal sisters. Each sister moved past their fear to stand up for what was right and encouraged others to do the same. If it had not been for them, perhaps Latin America would never have been freed.
Feminicidio is the killing of women for no reason. Sadly, it is has become a primary component of everyday life in Guatemala. Not only does the mass murder of women affect the families of lost loved ones, but also the entire nation as they struggle for economic, sexual, political, and overall justice. Feminicidio has orchestrated a great deal of chaos in Latin America, and even impacts the US as we try to relieve them of their struggles. The issues imposed are of great destruction, and negatively affect many people, groups, and organizations.
Along with Brazil, Mexico has demonstrated a similar phenomenon, amongst the Nahuatl-speaking locals. It is another Virgin Mary figure which was discovered on a sacred Aztec site. The statue is commonly referred to as Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (Our Lady of Guadalupe, pictured below), however the indigenous people call her Tonantzin, after an indigenous goddess of the earth. Asides from religious figurines, there are many buildings in Latin America which are known to be influenced by the colonisation which are religious sites, most often churches. The increase in the number of churches in Latin America is another sign that religion took a large part in changing Latin American society and lifestyle.
One of the toughest adjustments, having been born to Mexican parents, is migrating to an unknown country where traditions and languages differ from one 's own. Though many pursue an education and strive for a better life, the purpose behind an immigrant, like myself, differs from the typical American. Immigrants strive for a life that was once impossible, going to school is not only to attain an education, but to better prove that we can also become successful regardless of our traditions and skin color. I lived in a country for over fifteen years, fearing deportation, not only losing a home, but potentially saying goodbye to a bright future. Although many feel empathy for Mexican-Americans, it is undeniably difficult to truly comprehend the immense trauma children and even adults undergo upon experiencing racism and prejudice.
Moving to Dominican Republic as a young American came with many challenges. One of the main challenges was crime; crime is one of the biggest problems for tourist. I moved to the Dominican Republic at the age of 11 with my parents. I was in middle school when I had my first close encounter with crime during the summer, a week right before school started. I was robbed by two assailants, one on a motorcycle and the other man was walking.
My parents and I moved to the Dominican Republic when I was thirteen years old. Living there as a young American came with many challenges. One of the biggest threats against foreigners is violence. Within my first years of living in Dominican Republic, I had experienced two incidents at it firsthand. The first incident happen a week before school began, I was mugged by two assailants; man on a motorcycle and another man on foot.

Colombia is known for its beautiful culture, land, and natural beauty.
When people think of Chile, South America they think of the food source of chili but the place Chile has so much more to it than the label of chili. Chile has volcanoes, monuments, and mountain you can climb. Some examples are Valle da la Luna, San Cristobal Hill, and Torres Del National Park. The main language people of Chile speak is Spanish. There are a lot of farming to produce fresh fruits and vegetables.
