William Stafford’s style of writing cultivated me in many ways. Throughout this piece, there has been many cliffhangers which want you to keep on reading. There were always questions such as, “what is going to happen next?” or “I wonder why this is happening.” Every question has an answer and all of mine were solved throughout the entire following of the writing.
The goblins are described as enchanting and delightful in the beginning of poem, they cry with sing song qualities, “come buy, come buy,” and tempt Laura with voices “as smooth as honey” (line 3 and 108). They are dangerous because they seem so innocent and harmless, when in reality they are not. Lizzie tells Laura to “remember Jeanie,” someone who ate the fruit and “pined and pined away,” thus dying from the act (147 155). The rules are clear because Lizzie explains them to Laura repeatedly. They are to “not peep at [the] goblin men,” and to “not buy their fruits” because “their gifts would harm [them]” (line 49 43 66).
Some see the ugliness in the most beautiful things but others see the beauty in the most hideous of things. The poem William Street by Kenneth Slessor demonstrates this thesis statement as he talks about how he sees the beauty in the street that is renowned for its ugliness and the unsightly surroundings it is engulfed with. This poem's literary techniques and imagery gives the readers an insight into the environment and the surroundings that are seen vividly even though they are described through the use of foreshadowing. Each stanza gives the readers a different understanding on what is going on during the poem.

Beah’s writing is easy to comprehend because the text does not give enough complexity for the students. Not to mention, Beah does not connect to a SHS Student because Beah was a child soldier from Africa, while most SHS students are from United States that have cognitive problems that stem from home.
Literary Analysis: “A Worn Path” Eudora Welty uses many literary elements in her short story, “A Worn Path,” to allow the reader to stay engaged throughout its entirety. Although there are many literary elements present in this story, there are three that Welty focuses intently on. She uses elements such as imagery, symbolism, and motifs to draw the reader’s attention. It is important for an author to write their story in a way that can be understood but also enjoyed. In this essay, I will analyze the poem Verses Upon the Burning of Our House (July 10th, 1666) by Anne Bradstreet, a puritan who most critics consider to be America’s first “authentic poet. The poem is based on a true story as Anne’s house really did burn down and illustrates her meditations on this event, the pain she felt after losing her home and the effect it had on her faith. The main theme is Anne’s struggle to not become attached to material things. I will begin by explaining the rhyme, style, and tone of the poem, continue by explaining which literary devices and interesting features we can find and the effect they have on the reader, then I will analyze the poem and finally I will give a brief conclusion. In addition to this, Rossetti, only mention the “maidens”, implying that only unmarried women are able to here the crying of the goblins, again, as if the married women do not experience the threat of the song, that is temptation. The goblins invite the women to see the goods they are offering: “Come buy our orchard fruit/ Come buy, come buy” The tone of the goblins from the very beginning of their call, is pressuring and at the same time cheerful. The fact though that they repeat their call, “come buy”, three times also generates the thought that this repetitive phrase can become annoying after a while, something that might be known by the goblins.
