On July 28, 2018, the US Department of Justice published an article titled Law Enforcement Misconduct which discussed about various examples of such acts of misconduct and legal consequences of the execution of such actions. In the Inferno by Dante Alighieri, he looks at such actions as examples of sins of violence. These transgressions in the modern era are met with rather consequential punishments, whereas in the medieval times, Dante gave extreme retributions for such sins.
