With technology becoming more and more advanced, it is no surprise that Chatbots and Conversational Interfaces are on the rise of becoming a worldwide trend. Trends get around by people classified as “Connectors”- according to Malcolm Gladwell’s guidebook, “The tipping point.” Connectors are people who are well known and essentially connect the world together. Connectors see possibilities in everything and use the “Law of the few” and the “Stickiness factor” to make trends so big worldwide. The “Law of the Few” is a term Gladwell uses to describe a specific type of people in control of social epidemics- or “trends,” taking off and becoming huge. The “Stickiness factor” of a trend or idea determines how well the producer promotes the idea so that it ‘sticks’ with the potential consumer and is memorable to them, furthering advocating their product to other buyers. In another article written by Forbes Magazine, titled, “UX Trends 2017: Experts Bet On AI, Chatbots And VR,” states that founders, designers and executives of AI companies bet on AI and Chatbots to be the biggest UX trend in 2017. The article goes on to explaining the reason why these technologies are going to become a major part of everyday lives and the unique qualities of each one. Features such as voice recognition and built-in innovative tools to speed up workflow/enhanced collaboration are said to be the main reason to look out for these robotics (Forbes magazine). Forbes brings in expert sources in each article as a part of their “Stickiness Factor,” people see that experts are saying it is going to become huge, making consumers more interested in the product, resulting in the rise of the trend among societies. Another “Stickiness Factor” Forbes has is that the magazine lists why the product is going to be important in the future of our everyday lives; people then get excited, remember it and tell others about
